Joan Fiorello earned her doctorate in clinical psychology from Columbia University and published her doctoral dissertation based on her research and interest in attachment theory as it relates to self esteem, resilience, and parent-child relationships.

In addition to her own private practice in northern New Jersey, Dr. Fiorello has had years of experience working in both hospital and community mental health center settings providing treatment for anxiety, depression, addiction, relationship issues, and a variety of other challenges in living. She works with adults of all genders, sexual orientation, race, national and ethnic origin, religious and spiritual affiliation.

Dr. Fiorello works primarily with clients who live and work in the New York–New Jersey metropolitan area. She has also provided volunteer mental health services and counseling for disaster relief victims through organizations like the Red Cross. Dr. Fiorello is active in the New Jersey Psychological Association, is past president and executive board member of the Northeast Counties Association of Psychologists (NCAP) and is co-chair of NCAP’s Program Committee.
